Hi! Do I need to pay extra for staying at the New Year’s party in Epcot?

    Hiya pal!

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your New Year's Eve question! What a fun way to ring in the new year. EPCOT is such a fun way to celebrate because the atmosphere is absolutely electric. Between the dance parties throughout World Showcase, the live DJs, the festive energy, and the spectacular fireworks at midnight, it truly feels like one big celebration. There is nothing quite like counting down to the new year surrounded by Disney magic.

Now, let's jump right into your question. The only thing you'll need to enter EPCOT on New Year's Eve is valid theme park admission and, if your ticket requires it, a theme park reservation. I recommend arriving as early as you can. New Year's Eve is one of the busiest days of the year to visit the park, and EPCOT has been known to reach capacity. Therefore, getting there early gives you the best chance to enjoy everything the park has to offer before the evening festivities begin.

If riding attractions is a high priority for you, I also recommend looking into Lightning Lane Passes on the My Disney Experience App. They can be a great way to spend more time enjoying the park and less time waiting in line. If you're staying at a Disney Resort, you can purchase your Lightning Lane Passes beginning seven days before your check-in date. If you're staying elsewhere, your purchase window opens three days before your visit.

Depending on your plans, you can choose Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass for select attractions, or Lightning Lane Premier Pass. When we go to Epcot, we always try to snag a Single Pass Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy. I always hope to get the song September, since it gives the ride such a party feel.

One last tip from someone who has spent many busy days in the parks. Give yourself plenty of time, wear comfortable shoes, and don't rush from one end of the park to the other. New Year's Eve is one of those days where it's just as much about soaking in the atmosphere as it is about checking attractions off your list. Grab a special snack, enjoy the entertainment around World Showcase, and take a moment to appreciate the excitement as everyone gets ready to welcome a brand-new year together. Also, as the date gets closer, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for more information on the New Year's Eve festivities in Epcot.

I hope this helps answer your question! Wishing you an unforgettable New Year's Eve. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
