Hi there, Angel!
Welcome to planDisney where it's always a
practically perfect day to discuss shopping at
Walt Disney World Resort!
I always love keeping an eye on
Disney Parks' social media accounts to see the newest merchandise offerings. Just this week a
Tarzan spirit jersey stopped me mid-scroll, but since it's exclusively available at Disneyland Resort at this time, it will have to
be in my heart instead of my closet. Speaking of Disneyland Resort, on my most recent visit I was able to make a few purchases even more magical by having my name embroidered on them. I loved these souvenirs so much that I hoped to do the same to a few Walt Disney World Resort items during my Spring Break vacation but unfortunately was informed that The Most Magical Place on Earth exclusively offers embroidery on mouse ears at this time.
To be sure this was still the policy, I reached out to a helpful Cast Member who confirmed that Walt Disney World Resort merchandise locations do not typically offer embroidery on clothing or accessory purchases. While this is the standard policy, she did helpfully add that embroidery locations might accept other items (that are unworn, same-day purchases) at any given time depending on the current queue of items awaiting personalization. It is important to remember that this would be an exception rather than the rule and would solely be done at Cast Member discretion, but if pixie-dusting your purchases is something you have your heart set on it can't hurt to ask! Typically, these items can be personalized within a few minutes or hours depending on the current queue. Even if you are unable to have clothing embroidered, did you know that
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park has artists available to personalize ornaments, celebration buttons, and even
select mouse ears?
Since I'm sure this is not what you were hoping to hear, Angel, you might also consider having your souvenirs embroidered at a local shop once you arrive home. I did this with a Mickey Mouse tote bag, and it's such a fun way to bring a bit of magic to work with me each day!
I'll be thinking the happiest of thoughts for you on your upcoming vacation. In the interim, please feel free to
stop back by with any other questions that arise. I'm always happy to help!
Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
