I see that Pirates of the Caribbean is closed. When will it reopen. We are schedule for a visit the week of Feb 23, 2025.

Ahoy, Margaret! Welcome aboard planDisney, where we help chart a course for smooth sailing on your Walt Disney World adventure!

I hear you’ve got a voyage planned for next month. How exciting! I know how it feels to worry about missing a favorite attraction due to refurbishment. Pirates of the Caribbean has been near and dear to my heart since I first sailed its waters with my dad back in the 1980s. There’s nothing quite like the smell of gunpowder in the ship battle scene, is there? It’s pure pirate magic!

Good news, me heartie. The closure of Pirates of the Caribbean seems to be temporary and according to the Cast Member I spoke with, it is not scheduled for refurbishment during your trip. So, Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew should be ready to welcome you aboard! But keep an eye out, because the clever scoundrel might be lurking about, keeping a watchful eye on his treasures.

Speaking of pirate treasures, you may notice some construction walls near the exit of the attraction. Disney recently announced a new Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern, set to open in late 2025 in the former Pirates League space. Described as a haven for buccaneers of all ages, it’s sure to be brimming with rum-laced libations and immersive pirate theming. Sounds like a good excuse to plan another adventure!

While Pirates of the Caribbean is smooth sailing, there are a few attractions that will be temporarily closed during your trip, including Astro Orbiter, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the Hall of Presidents. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date refurbishment schedule as your travel dates approach.

And don’t forget to set your sights on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! This new attraction is a splash of fun, complete with a 50-foot drop into a lively celebration of jazz music. To ride, you’ll need to join the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app. Remember, each guest can enter the virtual queue once per day during regular park hours, and there’s no standby line available just yet. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is also an option for those looking to save a bit of time.

I hope this helps you navigate your upcoming trip, Margaret! May your days be filled with adventure, magic, and perhaps a hearty “Yo Ho!” or two.
