Is the photo pass and memory maker basically the same?

    Hi Beth!

Welcome to planDisney, and my oh my! Your visit is in just a few days, are you ready for all the magic?! You've come to the right place with your question, thanks for stopping by! The Disney PhotoPass Service is where you can have photos taken throughout Walt Disney World Resort, taken either by an automatic camera or by a green-shirted Cast Member. You'll find opportunities for photos everywhere, including by iconic theme park spots (like Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth), on select attractions (like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind), and with characters! Be sure to stop and take as many photos as you can to capture this moment in time!

A Memory Maker purchase will give you all of these photos, including all the fun Disney Magic Shots! I recommend purchasing Memory Maker in advance; it is the best value (savings of $25, subject to change). You will have 45 days from when your first photo was taken to download all of your images to your devices. If, for some reason, you miss that 45-day deadline, there is an extension policy available that you can apply for, which gives you an additional 15 days to download your images.

Now, where are the best places to take photos? Here are some of my favorite spots by park:

    • Magic Kingdom: Main Street, U.S.A., next to the Roy and Minnie Mouse bench, in front of the Partner's Statue, and Princess Fairytale Hall.
    • EPCOT: Spaceship Earth, the bridge connecting France and the UK Pavilion in World Showcase, and the bridge connecting World Celebration and World Showcase.
    • Hollywood Studios: the entrance to Toy Story Land, Sunset Boulevard near the Tower of Terror, and Hollywood Boulevard.
    • Animal Kingdom: The Tree of Life, Pandora: The World of Avatar, and near the entrance of the Africa section.

Beth, I hope all of this information was helpful! Thank you for stopping by planDisney, and have a magical vacation full of smiles!

    Say Cheese!
