Aloha, Melissa!
Thanks for stopping by
planDisney as you count down the days until your island escape at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
You'll have access to two sets of poolside bathrooms here - one beneath the Lava Pool's waterfall and the other in the Oasis Pool area. Both are well-equipped with showers (complete with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) and changing areas. I spoke with a recreation Cast Member who confirmed that hair dryers are unavailable in these locations. You will find hair dryers in the poolside bathrooms at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa but not at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
I'm sorry if this is different than you hoped to hear. If you plan to bring your own hair dryer, feel free to use available outlets in either bathroom. Just watch out for water since these spots get a lot of foot traffic from swimmers.
I hope this has been helpful, Melissa. Before I go, I want to share one more insider tip. If you haven't spent much time at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, I will tell you about one of my favorite casual eateries in Walt Disney World -
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. Just a few steps away from
Capt. Cook's, you'll find waterside tables and a lovely menu full of tasty snacks and unique beverages. It typically opens late afternoon and is an excellent spot for a pre-dinner drink or light meal. The Thai Chicken Flatbread is my favorite! If you time it right, you might catch
Magic Kingdom Park fireworks in the distance or see the
Electrical Water Pageant as it floats past on the lagoon.
Thanks again for sending your question to planDisney. Best wishes for a memorable vacation, and we look forward to welcoming you "home" soon.
Mahalo,
Betsy
