In the past, Goofy could occasionally be found sleepwalking at night on one of the DCL ships. Recently, I've heard that he "outgrew" his sleepwalking. Can you confirm this, or might lucky passengers still come across him late at night?

Gawrsh, Megan! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with such a fun question about my pal Goofy. Ya-hoo-hoo-hoo-hooey!

Over the years, Guests have reported late-night moments when Goofy was known to sleepwalk around the ship in his nightgown and sleep mask! He’d walk through the atrium or the stateroom corridors, sometimes curling up in a cozy chair for a quick snooze. It’s one of those pure surprises that made sailing after dark feel extra Goofy… literally.

I chatted with a Disney Cruise Line representative today, and while they couldn’t confirm whether Goofy still goes on nighttime adventures, they did mention that these appearances are completely unscheduled and can vary by ship. And although sightings seemed more common a few years ago, every once in a while a lucky Guest has reported a surprise encounter. My friend Kami even found him snoozing in an elevator with his sleep mask on... now that’s Goofy with a capital G!

Since there’s no set time or place and nothing listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, it really comes down to a little luck. If you’re hoping to see him on an upcoming voyage, you may want to fuel your late-night detective work with a latte or an espresso martini from Cove Café. All in the name of research!

Wishing you a sprinkling of pixie dust, Megan!

    Sea ya real soon,
