Welcome back to
planDisney, Mary!
Thanks so much for sending another excellent question our way. My family just found ourselves in a similar situation to yours, and I'd be happy to share our experience. Let's get going!
Good news! You do not need to purchase
Lightning Lane passes for your entire party. Before choosing Lightning Lane experiences, you will select eligible Guests from your Family and friends list for whom you will purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass.
My husband and I are proud parents of two thrill-seeking Disney-loving kiddos. My dear husband, however, is sensitive to motion and skips all roller coasters and screen-based theme park attractions. Just yesterday I purchased a few Lightning Lane passes for next week's
Walt Disney World adventure. My husband doesn't ride much in
Disney's Hollywood Studios, opting to enjoy live entertainment and snacks here instead. In contrast, this park is home to several of our Mouseketeers' favorite attractions. This is the perfect place for my children and me to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass to bypass standby queues for some of the more thrilling rides (
Slinky Dog Dash,
The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror, and
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue) so dad doesn't spend his whole day waiting for us to wait in line. Between Lightning Lane redemptions, we focus on what we can all enjoy together, like
Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular! and
A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.
I hope this is helpful, Mary. Remember, Guests of hotels in the
Disney Resorts Collection can begin reserving Lightning Lane passes for the length of their stay (up to 14 days) at 7 AM one week before check-in day. Offsite visitors have a 3-day advance purchase window. Best wishes for utilizing this new system, and if you have any more questions, please reach out again. You've got a friend in us! Thanks again for contacting planDisney, and have a magical day!
