Heya Tiffany!
Welcome once again to planDisney and we're so happy to see you back! I'm honored to be involved in the planning process for what sounds like an exciting trip later this month! And as a tech geek, it would be my pleasure to delve into the details for your MagicBand+.
Each
MagicBand+ may only be linked to one account and one ticket at a time. Incidentally, when I returned from my Walt Disney World trip last time, I found that I had to unlink my Band from the My Disney Experience App before I was able to link it back to my Disneyland account. The process is similar for both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, but just in case, you can follow these
linking instructions for your Bands. Once it's linked to a particular ticket, the Band will emit an RFID tag for that ticket whenever it is scanned (e.g., entering the Parks or redeeming a Lightning Lane).
I see that my good friend
Tishra has already gone over
linking everyone's tickets together in the
Disneyland Mobile App. Anyone who has tickets linked to their account may make a
Lightning Lane reservation for any of those linked tickets if Genie+ has been purchased and the Guest has entered the Park. That's why she said it's convenient to have everyone's tickets linked in case you split up. Once Disney's system registers that a Lightning Lane has been reserved for a ticket, you can redeem it by just scanning the Band that is linked to that ticket.
Tiffany, I hope that explanation was clear and I wish you a truly magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! I love that you've visited the Resorts on both Coasts. I consider the Disneyland Resort my home Park and it'll always be Walt's original. I always like to give him a silent "Thanks" as I walk by the lamp in his firehouse apartment. Please return again if you have more questions. We always love hearing from our return patrons!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
