Where should I park when going to the theme parks?

Hi there Miguel, it's great to have you here at planDisney!

As one of the International experts here on the team, I always love planning out the logistics when it comes to your journey to and from Disney Destinations - and having a great plan of attack before you decide to drive directly to the theme parks can really make the difference between how long it'll take you to get to and from your vehicle each day. (With the early rope-drop mornings and extended evenings after a long day there's really nothing like getting back to the car sooner than later!)

    • As mentioned, getting in early as soon as the lots open even an hour prior to scheduled theme park opening hours can avoid having to wait to board designated parking trams to get to some of the farther spaces. The parking Cast Members do a very efficient job of directing folks and families to predetermined spaces as you arrive, though if you're more into an afternoon late-start like we are - we've also discovered some closer spots to snag that guests are able to park at directly later in the day.
    • When you're headed to the theme parks, it's important to remember that registered guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels have their standard theme park parking included, but in my opinion utilizing the complimentary Disney Resort Transportation has always been so much more convenient. (For some families, walking across rows of vehicles across hot pavement to find your own might not sound appealing after a long theme park day, though the Car Locator can definitely come in handy!)

Though paying extra for Preferred parking fees can also make it much more convenient at times, the added cost can sometimes make it the same as scheduling a ride using an app; this is also a way to avoid the hassle of locating your vehicle and worrying about paying for gas. An extra perk of using Minnie Van Service across Walt Disney World Resort property is that the Cast Members driving you can often get you even closer to each theme park entrance - especially at Magic Kingdom Park. If however your heart is set on driving to and from the theme parks each day, I hope that you found this useful Miguel - don't forget to take a picture of wherever you park just in case!
