Alexia,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Park hopping can be such a wonderful way to see more of Walt Disney World in fewer days. It also helps you build a bit more spontaneity into your days as well!
Before we start, it is important to point out that when you make theme park reservations, you only make the reservation for your primary, and first park of the day. There is no way to reserve a second park to visit. You simply hop there, and I will share more on that in my answer.
But the good news is that making your theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass System will be an easy 1-2-3-4.
Step 1: Ensure that you have your tickets entered into your
My Disney Experience account.
Step 2: While you can go straight to making your park reservations, I always like to check the
Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar first, to make sure that the parks are free on the days I want to visit them.
Step 3: Visit the
Theme Park Reservations page. Either click on the link in my answer, or from the Walt Disney World home page, hover over
"My Disney Experience" in the upper right, and from the pop-up menu select
"Theme Park Reservations".
Step 4: After you click on the
"Make or Modify Theme Park Reservations" button, simply go day-by-day, picking your park for whatever members of your party plan to attend that day.
BONUS TIP #1If you want to switch plans later, you can still do that. Of course, you should check the Availability calendar first to be sure the changes you want to make will work. After that, just go back to your My Disney Experience Account, under
"My Plans", and click on the
"Manage Reservation" button next to the park pass you want to change. Follow the prompts, and you will be done in a few minutes!
HOPPING TIPOne condition of park hopping is that the park you hop to has to have room for more people. I have never had a problem with this, but just in case, how will you know if that next park has available space? When getting ready to park hop, just call
(407) 560-5000. That is the
Park Hopping Hotline (or at least that is what I call it!), and it will tell you the status of all the parks, and if the park you want to hop to has space.
Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
