Hello Katherine, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy you've swung by with your question. Your trip is just a few days away... that's so exciting. Let's get you a practically perfect location to watch the magical new
Starlight - Dream the Night Away evening parade. You won't want to miss one spectacular twinkle of this experience!
I do see there are two performances of Starlight scheduled for your arrival date, at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. That's an excellent start. The type of
Fireworks Dessert Party you book determines where you’ll view the fireworks. All parties feature a delightful dessert buffet and an unforgettable experience. Some options include a wristband granting access to the Plaza Garden for fireworks viewing, while others—such as
Seats & Sweets—offer reserved viewing from the Tomorrowland Terrace patio.
Once you know the viewing location of the Dessert Party you've chosen, there are a couple of things to consider. The parade route is in reverse order from the daytime parade route that guests are most familiar with. Starlight begins on Main Street USA, travels around the Cinderella Castle hub, and then heads to Frontierland.
From Tomorrowland Terrace patio, your view of the Starlight parade would be obstructed. From the Plaza Garden area, you should be able to see the taller floats. However, the parade will be traveling away from you, and you never know if there will be other obstructions from trees, other guests, light posts, etc.
So here are my recommendations:
- If you'll be doing the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Desert Post-Party, I would follow my friend Shonette's advice. She suggests checking in early to get your viewing wristband, and grabbing a good spot in the Plaza Garden area both to watch Starlight and Happily Ever After.
- If you'll be doing the Seats & Sweets Fireworks Party, you will be admitted to the Tomorrowland Terrace reception beginning at 8:00 PM. You will want to take advantage of every magical moment of this special venue and delicious spread of goodies! I'd highly recommend enjoying Seats & Sweets, then catching the later 10:00 PM viewing of Starlight. The second parade is less crowded, and friends have reported that viewing from the Liberty Square area is a terrific spot!
Katherine, I hope this helps you decide how to plan your magical evening at Magic Kingdom. Have a wonderful time, and please
visit us at planDisney if we can answer any other questions.
Go. Live your dream.
