Hi Chiara, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I just love the convenience of having MagicBands at Disney World. There’s so much you can do without needing to fish through your bag for a card, like scanning into theme park and Lightning Lane entrances, opening your
Disney resort hotel room door, and linking
PhotoPass pictures.
Now, let’s chat about ordering a new MagicBand! The pre-arrival bands aren’t currently discounted, but it is possible to purchase a new MagicBand for just one person in your party. On the
My MagicBands and Cards page, find your resort hotel reservation and click the Get Started button. You’ll need to click the Select button for every guest on the reservation, even for the people not ordering a MagicBand. That will open the selection of available bands. For the person getting a new MagicBand, choose the design they’d like to order. For everyone else, look for the Decline a MagicBand link (under their profile icon and name). A message will pop up asking you to confirm, and you’ll need to click the Decline Pre-Arrival Offer button to continue. Once you do this for everyone, you’ll be able to check out.
One of the best reasons to upgrade to a
MagicBand+ is to get access to some fun interactive features! It’s pretty cool to see it buzz and light up to the nighttime spectaculars and even on some attractions. You can also interact with the
Fab 50 Character Statues that you can find across all four theme parks. And I love using my MagicBand+ in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with the
Play Disney Parks app to do the
Batuu Bounty Hunters quest. It’s a great way to explore Black Spire Outpost!
