Welcome to planDisney! Your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the corner. I am sure the entire crew is getting excited as you enter the final countdown. Let's go over using prior MagicBands and the differences between your current band and MagicBand+. This way, you can decide if your current band makes the packing list or if you'll be getting a new souvenir for your stay!
Margaret, you are welcome to use previous MagicBands for your upcoming adventure. They will still work for entering the parks with the tap of the wrist, opening your Disney Resort hotel room doors, and making purchases. Be sure to double-check that the bands are still connected to the Guests in your travel party before you arrive. You can check MagicBand assignments through
the My Disney Experience app. Tap the three bars at the bottom of the screen, and scroll to the
MagicBand & Cards link. You will see a list of all Guests linked to your account, and can view their bands by selecting the
Customize Your MagicBand+ option.
The
MagicBand+ option still has all the same great features of the traditional MagicBand, with a little extra fun built in. New bands light up along with shows like
Happily Ever After, Festival of the Lion King, and more. My Ohana loves this feature because it feels like you are a part of the experience! You can also try your hand at Bounty Hunting in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This is a really fun way to spend an afternoon or break up the time between
Lightning Lanes. You may even find your band lighting up on your favorite attractions. It adds a new level of whimsy to the Haunted Mansion. When in doubt, I recommend spending a few moments getting familiar with
the full list of differences to determine which band fits your family like a glass slipper.
