Welcome to planDisney, Rebecca!
I’m excited to hear you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort later today! I’m just on my way back to the airport after a magical weekend, and I sure wish I had some delicious
Mickey-shaped beignets to snack on on my way home. Let’s dust off our aprons and get you ready for some tasty treats.
Guests may use rideshare services to visit the many beautiful resorts on property, but your experience at the security gate may vary. This weekend, we were asked for the name on our room reservation when checking in for our resort stay via rideshare, and later asked to show ID for our dining reservation at another resort when arriving in a friend’s vehicle.
Disney resorts typically allow
self-parking for short-term visits for shopping and dining, though busier times of year may require proof of dining reservations to visit, especially at popular resorts along the Monorail line. I’ve personally never been turned away when arriving via rideshare, but be prepared for some questions about your plans and the length of your visit at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, just in case. Your driver will likely be asked for ID to drop you off, but I’m crossing my fingers that yours will soon be covered in powdered sugar at
Scat Cat's Club - Café without issue or delay.
You might also consider a rideshare drop-off (or self-parking) at
Disney Springs for a little shopping and sightseeing first, then
utilizing complimentary bus transportation to and from Port Orleans. This way, you can experience two Disney destinations in one outing.
I hope this helps you plan a magical day, Rebecca. If we can answer any additional questions, please come back to planDisney and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
