No parks. done the Springs Tree Stroll & all the gingerbread displays. Do the resorts still have their usual free & paid resort activities like painting, mosaics & tie-dye or does that stop or Change to holiday

    Hi Liza,

Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so happy you dropped by to ask about activities for your visit during the Christmas holidays.

My family checks into a Disney resort each year for Christmas. It's the one time we don't visit the parks. We simply enjoy the resorts, the dining, Disney Springs and all the activities that Walt Disney World has to offer.

While there may be some in-park tours or special events that are curtailed during those few days because of the size of the crowds (Keys to the Kingdom comes to mind), you should find most activities in the resorts continuing as normal: Movies Under the Stars, poolside recreation fun and other regular tours and classes such as Mickey Tye-Dye.

We've stayed at the Coronado Springs resort the past five Christmases, and I know the Colors of Coronado Painting Experience, the Spanish Mosaic Art class and, my favorite, Sangria University were all on the schedule in 2025. Plus, we saw characters in holiday attire pop in occasionally, and Santa made a visit.

Many of the activities in the Enchanting Extras Collection also will be available. A couple of years ago, we did the Amorette's Patisserie Cake Decorating Experience on December 23 and feasted on the Santa Mickey cake we created for the next couple of days.

Because that is a busy time at Walt Disney World, Liza, I recommend making your dining reservations as soon as they become available, 60 days before you arrive. If you do want to enjoy an Enchanting Extra, I'd make that reservation ASAP as well.

I know you've done the Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs (we do that every year, too), but have you visited the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs? We dropped in there for a Christmas Day family portrait last year, no reservation required, and we now plan to add that stop as part of our annual holiday tradition.

Thanks again for your question, Liza. I hope this gives you some ideas for your holiday visit. Please let us know if we can offer other suggestions for you.

    Enjoy every magical moment,

    Wilma
