Hi Sebastien,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question about planning your next Walt Disney World vacation. We're always happy to help.
It sounds like you have some MagicBands from previous visits to Walt Disney World. The original MagicBands were introduced in 2013 and redesigned in 2016 with a removeable puck. The
MagicBand+, which debuted in 2022 and is the version now available for new purchases, is rechargeable and interacts with special displays, attractions, nighttime shows and parades, including the new
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away lighted parade at Magic Kingdom.
I have dozens of the older MagicBands, including several from 2013. I haven't tried to use any of the oldest ones recently. But I can tell you that I visit Walt Disney World frequently and, on every visit, I use MagicBands I got between 2018 and 2021 to access the theme parks, charge purchases to our resort and unlock the door of our resort room.
My favorite is the one commemorating the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom, which I bought on the anniversary in October 2021.
You should be able to use your older MagicBands, too, if you choose. Just go to the My MagicBands and Cards section of
My Disney Experience and check to be sure they are still listed as active. You should see a picture of each MagicBand and its serial number. If you have more than one active MagicBand, that's no problem, You can use them interchangeably.
Have fun planning your vacation, Sebastien, and enjoy every magical moment once you arrive.
Wilma
