I no longer have access to the email I registered my magic band with.

    Hi Michael!

Welcome to planDisney!  I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a tech-based hiccup as your visit to Walt Disney World Resort begins.  Let’s take a closer look at MagicBands to get you ready to enjoy every magical moment of your vacation!

Michael, MagicBands are a great accessory to provide you with hands-free access to theme park entrances, Lightning Lane returns, and much more during your visit.  They work by being linked to your My Disney Experience account along with your theme park tickets and room reservation.  Once linked to an account, a MagicBand cannot be reassigned to another account.  If you have accidentally created multiple MyDisney accounts for yourself using different email accounts, or you have lost access to your current account, you can call a Cast Member to see if they can assist.  I mistakenly created a second account for myself a few years ago, and fortunately, a Cast Member was able to merge my two accounts.  Since it looks like you arrive today, you can also try speaking with a Cast Member at the front desk of your Disney Resort Hotel or a Guest Relations location to see if they can help.

If you still have access to your MyDisney account, which includes your theme park tickets and room reservation, but are unable to retrieve your MagicBand from another account, there are other complimentary options available during your visit that function similarly to MagicBands.  The first option is Disney MagicMobile service.  This allows you to create and store a pass in your digital wallet on your mobile device.  You can then use your phone or connected smartwatch to tap in at various entry points in the parks like you would with your MagicBand.  This is actually my husband’s preference as he doesn’t like wearing a MagicBand along with his smartwatch.

The second option is to request a Key to the World card.  These plastic cards are the size of a credit card and can be requested at your Disney Resort Hotel or from Guest Relations in the park.  It's also great to know that you can use all three of these options interchangeably throughout your vacation.  My middle son left his MagicBand+ in our hotel room on a recent trip, so we simply used a MagicMobile pass for that day and then went back to his MagicBand the next!

Michael, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy a wonderful visit.  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Happy New Year!
