Hi there, Reynaldo!
With a magical vacation on the calendar, I know you just can't wait for it to begin, so thanks for
firing your question over to us at planDisney. I'm happy to get to
work on an answer for you!
Whether you're ringing in the New Year or letting freedom ring on July 4th, there's no better place to catch holiday fireworks than
Walt Disney World Resort.
In years past, Magic Kingdom Park has celebrated with the special nighttime spectacular 'Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky' on July 3rd and July 4th. With DJ-hosted dance parties and
patriotic-themed snacks scattered throughout Magic Kingdom on July 4th, the celebration truly is nonstop. Last year the United States Air Force even honored the day with a special
fighter jet flyover.
Happily, the celebration isn't limited to Magic Kingdom Park,
The American Adventure at EPCOT hosts both favorite Disney characters in their 'Spirit of 76' attire as well as special performances by the
Voices of Liberty. As a United States History teacher, this part of America's birthday celebration is a 'can't miss' for me! Although not as all-encompassing as Magic Kingdom's, EPCOT also adds a distinctly patriotic finale to its nightly fireworks display each year on July 4th. Since EPCOT's special celebration is only held on the 4th, if you are hoping to catch both red, white, and blue celebrations in the sky, you'll need to enjoy Magic Kingdom's July 3rd nighttime spectacular. This can actually work to your advantage as Magic Kingdom Park will likely be a bit less crowded on July 3rd than it is on the 4th, and EPCOT is typically a less popular nighttime Independence Day destination.
Of course, Walt Disney World Resort's celebrations vary from year to year, so keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for updates as the date approaches. Because the celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort are so beloved, if your theme park ticket
requires a reservation I would suggest making yours as early as your schedule allows.
As a bonus tip: if you're looking for air-conditioned ways to celebrate, be sure to check out
The Hall of Presidents in Magic Kingdom Park's Liberty Square and the unconventionally patriotic
Muppet*Vision 3D in Disney's Hollywood Studios which culminates with Sam Eagle's 'Salute to All Nations...but Mostly America' (a glorious 3-hour finale that lasts a minute and a half).
I hope this was helpful, Reynaldo, and that you are able to celebrate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in The Most Magical Place on Earth. In the interim, don't hesitate to
stop back by with any additional questions that arise as your magical vacation approaches. I'm happy to be your right-hand man!
Huzzah,
Lizzie
