I will need a wheelchair on Monday. What do I do?

Hiya, friend, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! You're arriving for your Walt Disney World Resort adventure soon, and I'm thrilled to help you make a mobility plan for your visit. Let's look at some options to help you zip around the theme parks in style!

If you're looking for a wheelchair or an electronic conveyance vehicle (ECV) to use inside the theme parks, you can rent either device at any park entrance. They're available on a first-come basis, and you can even rent a wheelchair for the length of your stay. ECVs can be rented day-by-day; hold onto your receipt to pick one up at any theme parks you visit if you have the Park Hopper Option on your ticket.

To rent a wheelchair or mobility device to use inside and outside the theme parks, I recommend contacting Disney's Featured Provider, ScooterBug. Check out their website by clicking the link on the Wheelchair Rental page for more information about the equipment they offer. They'll even deliver your device to your Disney Resort Hotel!

My final tip is to familiarize yourself with the Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page. You'll find information about parking and riding attractions with your device. I visited Walt Disney World in a wheelchair a couple of years ago, and Cast Members impressed me with their kindness and professionalism at each attraction. My husband got pretty tired pushing the chair around all day in July, so if I'm ever in that situation again, I might opt for an ECV!

I hope I've given you some options for securing a mobility device that will suit your needs on your upcoming vacation. Please keep planDisney in mind for any other questions. We're here to help things "roll along" smoothly!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
