Walt Disney World. I can't think of a better place to ring in a new year. While it's always known as The Most Magical Place on Earth, New Year's Eve festivities make it even more true.
You'll be happy to know that no special ticket is needed to access any of the four Disney theme parks on New Year's Eve. Your regular
theme park admission is all that's required.
Theme Park Reservations are needed, however, if your ticket type isn't date-based. If your ticket type is date-based, no reservation is needed. The best way to tell whether you have a date-based ticket or not is if, when you purchase it, you are required to select a start date. If so, it's date-based. Most ticket types fall into this category now. Keep in mind that this is a busy time of year, and park admission can be paused due to capacity. If you know where you want to spend the new year, it's best to arrive at that location early in the day and stick around until you're ready to leave for the day.
Information regarding this year's New Year's Eve celebrations will be released later this year. I like to keep my eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog for this type of thing. That's usually where official news breaks, and official Disney social media channels are also good to watch. In the past, there have been special fireworks displays, special merchandise, and
EPCOT has been fully energized with DJs, dance parties and even a silent disco, all included with park admission. I don't know what this year's celebrations will look like, but I expect them to be festive indeed.
