Do I need a general admission ticket and no so spooky party ticket if only going to party?

How ya doin', Cynthia, and welcome to planDisney!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in September has become a canon event in the story of my life. I find that September tends to be the sweet spot for lower crowds, especially if I can get a ticket for one mid-week. If you've got plans to attend the party and skip the parks during the day, you only need to purchase a party ticket. But you don't have to wait until the sun goes down for the grim grinning ghosts to come out to socialize.

The party's official start time is 7 PM, but party guests are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM with just a valid party ticket. That's actually a great time to get some attractions that don't have overlays to maximize your time with the event-exclusive fun like Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.

Pro-tip: Since you're not planning to hit the parks during the day, really take the time to rest up before the spooky soiree. The pool at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and a nap are the way to go. You're going to be dancing with spirits and Stitch and the gang in Tomorrowland until the wee, wee hours!

Cynthia, buy that party ticket and have the spookiest, most fabulous time. If you have any other questions before you run off with the happy haunts, just come back for another chat

    Happy haunting!
