Hi Jill! Welcome back to planDisney!
I'm excited to hear you are considering a stay at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort! This has been one of my favorites since I stayed here a few years ago for the first time. The location is incredible, with access to the Disney Skyliner and walking distance to many fantastic dining options. I'm counting down the days until my next stay!
Room types are typically split between the buildings where they are located. Preferred rooms can usually be found close to the main lobby, where it is easier to access different amenities and recreation options. Standard rooms typically make up the remainder of the resort. The room type you decide on will not necessarily determine which floor you will be located on.
If you require an
accessible room, you can choose that option when booking your stay. When using the
"Build Your Vacation" toolbar at the top of the Walt Disney World website, there is a box to check for Accessible Rooms. Once you click it, it will show you all the options available at the resort. I would assume that since there is limited or no elevator access at each of the buildings that many of these rooms will be located on the first floor.
If you do not require an accessible room and prefer to just be located on the first floor, you can make this request once you have confirmed your resort reservation. Simply
call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line to speak with a Cast Member. They will note your request on your reservation and take it into account when assigning your room. You can also stop by the front desk of your resort upon arrival and make this request known as well. Keep in mind that requests are not guaranteed, although they will do their best to accommodate.
Jill, I hope you have a magical vacation!
