Ahoy, Shari!
Thank you for sending another question our way! Disembarkation day is never easy for my crew, but we are always so impressed with the ease of the process especially when we've taken advantage of
Disney Cruise Line ground transportation and
Onboard Airline Check-in. I think you'll find this to be true at the end of your voyage as well. The transportation to the airport will run continuously throughout the morning, but unfortunately excursions like a visit to the new Exploration Tower at
Port Canaveral are not offered at this time. All Guests are asked to be out of their staterooms by 8:00 a.m. and debark between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. with the ride to the airport taking around an hour. Since you have a later flight, you could wait comfortably on the ship (after you eat) in one of the public areas open to Guests to soak in little more Disney magic before heading down the gangway.
Once you arrive at the Orlando International Airport, why don't you wait to proceed through security so you can enjoy the shops, restaurants and food court area? We did this last year, and it really did help pass the time especially since it gave me an opportunity to do a little more Disney shopping at Disney's Earport! And my husband was happy to find a comfortable chair to check in with work using the airport's free Wi-Fi. We still left plenty of time for security and travel time to the gate.
Shari, thank you again for sailing by to "sea" us! It's our pleasure to help make this a vacation of a lifetime!
Have a wonderful day!
Nancy
