Do we need to bring our passport for the Disney Wonder Baja cruise? (US citizens)

Ahoy, Shayna! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your Disney Cruise Line question about your upcoming sailing aboard the Disney Wonder.

Disney Cruise Line provides a general overview of “Passports, Visas & Citizenship Documents” on its website with sections for different destinations. The exact documentation requirements vary by sailing depending on the departure port, destination, and whether the cruise starts and stops in the same port of call. If you are sailing on one of the round-trip Baja Cruises departing from San Diego, then Disney Cruise Line requires that United States citizens bring either:

    • An original valid U.S. passport
    • An original valid U.S. passport card
    • An original valid Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS, FAST)
    • An original state-issued birth certificate AND a physical government-issued photo ID
    • An original Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) issued by the Department of State AND a physical government-issued photo ID, or
    • An original Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services AND a physical government-issued photo ID

If you already have a valid U.S. passport, then that will be the easiest form of documentation to bring with you for your sailing. However, if you do not have a passport and do not want to go through the hassle of applying for one prior to sailing, then you do have the option of providing one of the proof of citizenship documents along with your driver’s license or other government-issued identification instead.

Be aware that you will be asked to provide your travel documents when you complete your Online Check-In, but you will also need to bring them with you to the port. I hope that clarifies what you will need. If you have any other questions before you set sail, then we are always ready to answer at planDisney. Happy sailing!
