Purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to preschedule return times for 3 eligible attractions at one park. You'll need to note the grouping restrictions when making your selections, as all but Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park currently have rules in place. I
detailed the purchase process for another guest here if you'd like to familiarize yourself before you are within your purchase window.
As you complete your transaction, you'll be given return times for each of your experience selections. You can click on an individual attraction to modify your return time, subject to availability, before finalizing your purchase. In addition, you can also modify times or experiences on the date of your visit, again subject to availability. I find this helpful as I sometimes need to push a return window back if a dining reservation takes longer than planned or I want to spend more time in a different area of the park.
In my experience, you can arrive 5 min early for your return window, but you would not be able to arrive at 10 a.m. for a 2 p.m. Multi Pass experience, for example. You can always try to modify to an earlier return time from within the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, but return windows are in place to manage capacity and flow at the given attraction. If you find yourself running late, I believe there is a bit of a grace period after your return window, but you may need to speak to a Cast Member at the attraction if the scanner doesn't turn green when you arrive.
You'll also have the option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass in addition to or in place of Multi Pass for each day of your visit. I tend to always purchase one for
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT as it's such an incredible experience. If it's one of your favorites too, you can also try to join the Virtual Queue at 7 a.m. on the day of your visit to try and experience it twice in one day.
