My mom and dad have a trip planned this fall to WDW. We are thinking of surprising my mom in MK. Is there any place specifically we should do this? Is there a way I can set this up ahead of time with Disney to do a surprise?

    Hi there, Amanda!

Welcome to planDisney! I love that you're planning to surprise your mom at Magic Kingdom Park; what a special way to create an unforgettable core memory at The Most Magical Place on Earth! Your thoughtfulness is sure to make this trip extra special for your parents, and I'm thrilled to help you with your plans.

If you're looking for the perfect surprise spot, there are plenty of options, but one of my top recommendations is booking a Capture Your Moment photo session at Magic Kingdom Park. This Enchanting Extras Collection offering allows you to reserve a private 20-minute session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer at a stunning location in the park, such as Cinderella Castle. Imagine your parents posing for a beautiful photo together, and just as the photographer gets ready to snap the next picture, surprise! You and your family appear! This will give you a guaranteed time and place to meet up, and you'll also have a professional Cast Member ready to capture the big moment. Be sure to book in advance, as these sessions are pretty popular! Remember that each session accommodates up to eight Guests, so if you have a larger group, you may need to book multiple back-to-back sessions.

For a more casual (and free!) surprise, consider meeting them on Main Street, U.S.A., for that iconic, storybook-perfect reveal. Get into the park ahead of your parents and instruct your dad to get in line for a PhotoPass photo with the Castle in the background. You can pop right in when it is their time to strike a pose! You could also wait for them near Cinderella Castle or the Wishing Well for a magical, picturesque setting. If your family loves attractions, coordinating a surprise at the end of their ride on "it's a small world" or as they exit Pirates of the Caribbean could be a fun and unexpected way to appear!

Keep the magic going once you're all together by celebrating with a memorable experience! A reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant or Cinderella's Royal Table would make for an unforgettable meal in a truly enchanting setting. If you're looking for something more whimsical, The Crystal Palace offers a lively dining experience with Winnie the Pooh and friends. Want to end the night in the most magical way? Consider booking a Fireworks Dessert Party for a VIP viewing of Happily Ever After while indulging in delicious treats.

I hope this helps as you plan a practically perfect surprise for your mom! If you need more ideas or have any other questions, I'd love to help—so swing back by planDisney anytime.

    See ya real soon!
