Hi Brooke!
Welcome to planDisney! How lucky are you and your husband to be attending a work conference at The Most Magical Place On Earth? They say work hard, play hard, right? And what better way to do that than by experiencing all the incredible attractions that Walt Disney World has to offer—especially my absolute favorite, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!
There are two ways to join the intergalactic chase through space: the Virtual Queue or purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass. Let’s break it down so you can plan your best strategy!
First, the Virtual Queue has three opportunities to join:
- 7:00 AM: This is available to all Guests, but since you won’t be able to enter the park until
1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, you could receive a return time before you and your husband can get in. Not ideal! - 1:00 PM: You’ll both need to be inside EPCOT to try for a boarding group at this time. No good!
- Extended Evening Hours: If EPCOT offers these special hours during your visit AND you’re staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort or Deluxe Villa Resort, you can try for another Virtual Queue spot at 6:00 PM.
Since I don’t know your complete itinerary or accommodations, your best bet will likely be purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass, which allows you to choose a return time that works best for your schedule. If you’re staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can book this up to 7 days in advance; otherwise, you can grab one 3 days before. And if you happen to see them all gone, don’t panic! Availability often pops up throughout the day as the ride clears its queue faster than expected, so keep refreshing the My Disney Experience app.
While you’re at EPCOT, I’d love to make some recommendations for some must-try food and drinks:
I hope this helps answer your question and that One Way Or Another, you’ll move Earth, Wind, and Fire to be like A Flock of Seagulls to a Disco Inferno and Ran (So Far Away) that you’ll do the Conga (sounds like the ideal mixtape, no?).
See ya real soon!
