For Mickey’s not So Scary, I have a pair of replica Spider-Man Web-Shooters, Would I be allowed to use them as part of my costume?

    Hiya Pal!

Welcome to planDisney! One of the most important parts of prepping for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is not figuring out where you are going to watch Boo-To-You Parade from or even what order you are going to hit the treat stops; for me, it is all about the costumes. I’m a big fan of family costumes, so every year I spend so much time and energy trying to come up with the costume my little family of 4 will wear to our party date. While I continue brainstorming this year, let’s get to your question.

Spider-Man is such a great costume idea! I’m a huge fan of superhero costumes, and Spidey is one of our favorites in this house. I took a look at the Costume Guidelines for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and didn’t see anything specifically prohibiting web shooters. However, there is a guideline related to props and accessories that we should dig into a little closer. According to the policy, your costume must not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for a weapon. When I chatted with a Cast Member, she added that if your web shooters look like a weapon, have sharp pointed objects, or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest, then it is best not to bring them with you. I know that some web shooters can actually shoot “webs” out of them, so if yours do, then they definitely wouldn’t be permitted into the party. Without knowing more details about the web shooters, I cannot say for sure if they would be allowed at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It might be best to err on the side of caution and leave them at home if you can. You can still bring the “go webs go” vibe without the web shooters, and your costume will still be epic.

I hope this was helpful! As a reminder, I know Spidey is easily recognizable thanks to his trademark mask, which obscures his identity, but for the party, masks are not permitted for Guests older than 13. I hope you have a spooktacular time at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary. Please come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Happy Planning,
