Hi Kim,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Lightning Lane passes are the best way to maximize your time in the park. You get to zip around from one ride to the next faster than Lightning McQueen! Sounds like you want to avoid a rookie mistake of missing out on your next Lightning Lane reservation. With my help, you'll be a Lightning Lane pro; you’ll be saying “kachow” in no time!
Once you scan into the park, you can use the
Disneyland mobile app to make a Lightning Lane reservation. On the app, head to the Tip Board to see the different attractions and the available times to book. You book reservations one at a time, but there are two different times when you can book another reservation.
Example 1: It’s 8 am, and you make a reservation for
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at 9 am. You have a bit of time before you can use your Multi Pass, so you could grab a coffee or hop on a ride that has a short wait time. At 9 am, you head to Tiana’s. You can now open the Disneyland app and make another reservation!
Some days, reservation times pop up that are further in the day. In these cases, you can make another reservation after 2 hours have passed.
Example 2: It’s 8 am, and you make a reservation for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at 11 am. You have more time in this scenario until you can use your Multi Pass. This allows you to grab a morning churro or hop on a couple of rides with short wait times. At 10 am, you can open your Disneyland app and make your next reservation because two hours have passed since your last reservation.
Take some time to check out which rides you can access using the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and to explore how the app works. You can check the website for a current list of attractions at
Disneyland and
California Adventure. When you purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, it’s good for both parks. If you don’t have a
Park Hopper ticket, you may want to consider one to really get the most out of your day.
To help coordinate making Lightning Lane reservations, I recommend
linking your party’s tickets to one app. This way, you can make sure your whole party is getting reservations for the same time.
Regarding the price of the Multi Pass, it fluctuates based on the Tier of the day. Currently, a Lightning Lane Multi Pass
starts at $32.00 per ticket, per day. Keep in mind that there may be days when sales of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass are stopped. This helps maintain short wait times in the lines. I recommend upgrading your ticket ahead of time or purchasing the Lightning Lane through the app as soon as you scan into the park.
I hope this information was helpful, Kim. When you hit the park, you’ll be floating like a Cadillac and stinging like a Beamer! If you have any other questions, need additional help, or would love more advice, please feel free to write back to me or any of my fellow panelists—we’d be happy to assist.
Have a wonderful trip!
Melinda
