Welcome to planDisney, Yolanda!
As someone who uses
Lightning Lane Multi Pass frequently in the parks, I often ask myself this very question, sometimes even mid-adventure! (No joke: I was navigating this exact scenario just this past weekend.)
It can feel a little daunting figuring out how to spend your time between Lightning Lane return windows, but the good news is that the
Disneyland Resort offers an abundance of options to keep the magic going. While many attractions are available via Lightning Lane Multi Pass, there’s also a solid lineup that doesn’t offer that feature. These attractions make great choices for filling those in-between moments. For example, nearly all of the
Fantasyland classics, like Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and the Storybook Land Canal Boats, don’t offer Lightning Lane access, making them perfect to experience while you wait. Or, if you’ve just braved the high seas on Pirates of the Caribbean and are waiting for your return time to Indiana Jones Adventure, a trip through the world-famous
Jungle Cruise might be the perfect next step. Since Jungle Cruise doesn’t offer Lightning Lane Multi Pass either, it’s often a smart (and pun-filled) choice.
Entertainment is another great way to make the most of your time. Tap the “Entertainment” section in the
Disneyland app to see what (and who!) is out and about. In
New Orleans Square, where Pirates of the Caribbean is located, keep an ear out for the Bootstrappers or the jazzy stylings of the Jambalaya Jazz Band. Their performances bring so much life to the area and are an easy way to soak in some spontaneous fun.
Need a break? There are several quiet spots tucked throughout the parks where you can relax, enjoy a snack, and let the atmosphere wash over you. One of my favorite spots is along the Rivers of America behind the
Harbour Galley. Just follow the walkway to a shaded area with tables, ambiance, and a peaceful view: perfect for a breather before your next adventure.
And here’s a Q-Tip just for you, Yolanda: with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can actually hold more than one reservation at a time. After booking your first return time, you’re eligible to book another either once you’ve tapped into your initial attraction or after 120 minutes, whichever comes first. So, if you grab a return time for the Matterhorn Bobsleds at 9:00 a.m. for 4:00 p.m., you can still snag a reservation for the Haunted Mansion by 11:00 a.m. without losing your Matterhorn spot. I like to set alarms on my phone or smartwatch so I don’t miss my next booking window, because nothing should come between you and a high-speed dash through icy caverns or a chilling visit to the 999 happy haunts!
I hope this helps you plan a smooth and magical day at the Disneyland Resort, Yolanda. If you have any more questions or need tips for maximizing your Disney time, we’re always here at planDisney and happy to help!
Wishing you a practically perfect Disney day,
David
