What if meal requires 2 dining credits and I only have 1 left?

Welcome to planDisney, Susan! They say the activities you do on New Year's Day will set the tone for the year ahead, so I say WOO-HOO for spending time at Walt Disney World Resort. I predict a magical 2025 for you! It sounds like you'll enjoy some fabulous meals using the Disney Dining Plan during your visit, so let's look at how the process works.

At this time, guests must redeem the required number of table service meals to use their dining plan at a restaurant. If the location requires two meals, you need to have two left in your plan to dine there. Unfortunately, you can't pay the difference or purchase additional meals for your plan, but I have other suggestions.

You could select a restaurant that only requires you to redeem one meal. Most restaurants have a two-hour cancellation policy, so as long as you're within that window, you should be able to modify your dining in the My Disney Experience mobile app. I've also had excellent luck using my app's Chat With Us feature when I need assistance.

Another option is to pay out of pocket for a meal earlier in your visit to add that single meal to your remaining one. Then, you can enjoy the two-meal experience to finish out your plan. Talk about a grand finale!

My pal Matt has an excellent strategy for planning his dining and comparing meal prices. I've dined with Matt, and he knows his food! We recently went to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and the man can put away some cornbread! I highly recommend trying this hootenanny. You'll laugh, eat, and sing, surrounded by rustic mahogany decor. Yee-haw!

Susan, thanks again for stopping by planDisney today. Enjoy ringing in some magic this week, and bon appétit!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
