Hi Kaitlin, and welcome to planDisney! I love how
MagicBands make it so easy to enter the theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances, and even your
Disney Resort hotel room. So let’s make sure your daughter is all set for your upcoming trip!
At Disney World, MagicBands are connected to a specific person’s profile, not necessarily the account who linked the band. It sounds like your daughter may have two profiles, one managed by her dad’s account and one managed by your account. I’d recommend merging the two, which will consolidate your daughter’s MagicBands, theme park tickets,
PhotoPass pictures, and Lightning Lane selections under that single profile.
In order to
merge the two profiles, there are a few things you need to do. First, you and her dad have to be on each other’s
Family & Friends List. Then her dad will need to enable you to make plans for his managed guests. To do this, have him go into his Family & Friends List, find your profile under Connections, click the Edit Settings button next to your name, and then press the Connect My Managed Guests button. Once you accept the invitation, you’ll be able to make plans for any guests he manages, including your daughter’s profile.
Now, both profiles, the one her dad created and the one you created, should appear in Your Family & Friends List. In my experience, when this happens, you should see a notification flagging the profiles as possible duplicates. That notification will prompt you to merge the two profiles. After you confirm, her dad will get an email asking him to approve the merge. Once that’s done, your daughter will have one profile that both you and her dad can make plans for.

If your daughter has a MagicBand+, keep an eye out for the
Disney Fab 50 Character statues. Her MagicBand+ will light up and vibrate when you get near one in the theme parks. If you stand in front of the statue and move your hand, it’ll usually play a sound. You can even “collect” the different characters in the Play Disney Parks app!
