Does it matter if the picture is taken vertically or horizontally of the passport when using it for online registration for a Disney cruise?

Hello, Lauren! Welcome to planDisney! While Scar might be the villain in Disney’s “The Lion King,” his advice to “be prepared” is spot on! It’s a great idea to have all your paperwork shipshape and ready to go for online check-in

Once your cruise is paid in full, you may begin checking in online 30 days before your sail date. The link to access online check-in is located under Already Booked > My Reservations Page. Under your cruise details, you’ll see the Online check-in button in blue. Last week I checked in for my spring break cruise on the Disney Wish and returned to check the passport requirements.

As long as the information is visible, your passport photo can face any direction. The computer program pulls the information from your passport and prefills out your citizen information. Just double-check that everything is correct. During online check-in, you’ll also need to submit a security photo of each Guest that is different from the passport photo. It should be a color photo from the shoulders up and taken against a neutral background. I like to keep all the security pictures and passport photos in a folder on my computer so it’s easy to find and upload. Finally, you’ll enter onboard payment information and arrival and departure travel plans, select a port arrival time, and review and accept the cruise contract. Once you’re all finished, you can save or print your Port Arrival Form. You’ll need to present your valid passport and the Port Arrival Form upon check-in at the cruise terminal.

Hakuna Matata, Lauren, checking in at the port will be a breeze! If you haven’t already done so, I recommend downloading the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your mobile device. Once onboard and connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi, you’ll see a daily calendar of everything taking place on your cruise. From what movies are playing to the characters mixing and mingling, you’ll have your own compass at your fingertips to the fun onboard! Please sail back to planDisney with any additional questions. We are always happy to help!
