When making camping reservations at Fort Wilderness, are you required to pay in full or just a deposit?

Hiya, Lori! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I'm glad to hear that you're planning a well-deserved trip to Walt Disney World Resort, and I'll be happy to share the details for making a reservation at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Let's get right to it!

Fort Wilderness is always a great choice for a Disney adventure. After a day in the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, it's so nice to be able to come back and unwind in the great outdoors - just a quick hop from Magic Kingdom Park! This resort is also one of my favorites for a non-park day, with all sorts of activities ranging from archery to horseback riding to kayaks and canoes. It definitely lets your vacation be the best of both worlds!

To reserve one of the campsites, you can make a room-only (or in this case, a site-only) reservation, or add theme park tickets to create a vacation package. For the room-only booking, the initial deposit would be the total of the first night's stay, plus tax, with the remaining balance due at check-in.

For a vacation package, you would put down a deposit (currently $200, subject to change), plus the cost of the Travel Protection Plan if you decide to add that. Once you're booked, you can make additional payments at any time, as long as the final payment is made no later than 30 days before your arrival.

Lori, don't forget that Fort Wilderness also boasts one of the most popular dining experiences at Walt Disney World - the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! This is always a must-do when we visit, and I definitely recommend checking it out during your January trip.

I hope that this information is just what you need to make your 2027 travel plans - your vacation will be here before you know it! Please don't hesitate to reach out again if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. We're all EARS!

    See Ya Real Soon!
