    Do MagicBand+ bands open DLR hotel rooms and allow for payment?

    Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question! As a tech lover, I was thrilled when the Disney Parks Blog announced that MagicBand+ functionality would be coming to the Disneyland Resort back in 2022. I had experienced them on a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort and was excited to have them here!

    However, not all functions were ported over to the West Coast. As of the time of this writing, the ability to open your Disneyland Resort Hotel Room and make contactless payments with your MagicBand+ is not available to us. I know, it's a bummer, but I'm hopeful that someday, we'll get these features as well. It's still really fun to bring along a MagicBand+ because it totally enhances your Park experience and makes it super convenient when scanning into the Park, redeeming Lightning Lanes, and linking Disney PhotoPass photos!

    Have you heard all the exciting announcements coming from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event?! How exciting that Disney California Adventure will be getting a new ride dedicated to Avatar and a new Coco-themed attraction! And Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be opening on November 15, 2024 alongside the Holiday Season! So much to look forward to!
