Hello Sarah!
Thanks for bringing us your question. First, don't worry. You haven't missed your planning window. Your upcoming visit falls right at the start of the transition period, so the timing will differ for this specific trip. I'm happy to explain the process so you're prepared to make your selections.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass officially launches on July 24, 2024, and will offer guests the option to schedule return windows for 3 eligible attractions per day. Pre-planning will also be available making it easier to craft your perfect park itinerary around existing dining reservations or touring preferences. Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels can begin planning for their length of stay (up to 14 days) beginning 7 days before their check-in date. Off-property guests will be able to plan for their length of admission 3 days before their ticket start date. Though this is something many guests are eagerly awaiting, the ability to pre-plan will not be available to anyone until the program officially launches. Guests will enjoy the full advance planning windows on future visits, after the initial transition period.
Your visit to Magic Kingdom Park coincides with the program start date, so you'll be among the very first guests to use this new and improved system when it launches at 7 a.m. EST. You'll be able to review the pricing for each day of your multi-day ticket, and purchase and pre-plan your attraction return windows day-by-day that morning. Keep in mind you'll also have the option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass (rebranded Individual Lightning Lane) for 2 eligible attractions per day, in addition to or instead of Multi Pass selections.
I know this might feel like a bit of a scramble on your first park day, but fortunately, you'll have first access to all the available return times. I recommend
reviewing the attraction groups and guidelines so you are prepared to book your selections each day. We haven't seen the new interface just yet, but I'm assuming you'll be able to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Single Pass selections in a similar area of the
My Disney Experience Mobile App where you'd find Disney Genie+ Service purchasing today.
I recommend utilizing the chat feature within the app should you run into any technical issues when making your selections that morning. You can also speak with a member of the Guest Experience Team stationed around the parks when you arrive. I have a feeling this program will come with a bit of a learning curve, but I'm excited to use it on my next trip!
I hope that clears up any confusion, Sarah. If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
