Hey, Angela! Welcome to planDisney.
It's the most wonderful time of the year at The Walt Disney World Resort. There is nowhere on the planet so Christmassy! Hopefully, you'll have a chance to experience the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. I really enjoy visiting all the pavilions around World Showcase and learning about the various Holiday traditions from around the globe. Of course, I also make a point to stop by the Holiday Kitchens and try some delicious food and drink along the way. It's important to stay adequately fueled and hydrated.
On days when a special event happens at Magic Kingdom Park—such as
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or
Mickey's Verry Merry Christmas Party—the park closes to regular Guests at 6:00 PM. Unless you have a ticket for the special event, you'll have to make your way to the exit at that time. After speaking with a number of different Cast Members, I can confirm that if you do not have an event ticket and wish to dine on an event night, you need to book your dining reservation before 6:00 PM. Even if you show up early, I've been informed that you wouldn't be able to check in to the restaurant without a ticket for the event. If you're able to find a time slot before the end of regular park hours, you will still be able to dine and will be escorted out of the park after your dinner. I'm sorry if that's not the answer you'd like to hear, Angela. Hopefully, you'll find a "practically perfect" dining reservation to make it an enchanting evening.
If you've never attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I highly recommend it. It's a very unique and magical experience.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is one of my favorite things at Walt Disney World Resort.
I hope that's helpful, Angela. Have a wonderful trip.
Mike
