We have Magic Bands from 2019. We are planning a trip for Oct. 2022. Will we be able to use them for Park entrance, Photo Pass, Meals, and to Purchase things.

    Ned,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Even though Disney has unveiled their newest version of MagicBands, the MagicBand+, that does not mean that the bands you have at home are now defunct. You will still be able to use them as your park ticket, your PhotoPass link, as well to charge meals and other purchases to your Disney resort account.

I do want to caution you, however. While the 2019 version of MagicBands were extremely efficient in terms of the power usage, ones that are more than 2 years old can often be drained of their battery power and no longer working. Sadly, I know of no way to test that out at home, and you can't replace the batteries.

    RECOMMENDATION
I love my existing bands, and I would still bring yours with you to see if they work. You will know right away when you arrive at your resort, by asking the folks at the front desk to check them out. If they do not, you have several options to choose from. Both MagicBands and MagicBands+ should be available for purchase at your resort's gift store. You can also just use your smartphone for most of those same activities. Regardless of your path, the magic awaits!

Please feel free to write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
