Hi, Tracy! Thanks for stopping by planDisney! As Mickey would say, “Hot dog! You’re going to Disney World!” That’s always something to celebrate!
The Disney Dining Plans are a great way to prepay for meals and snacks, making it easier to budget while enjoying all the delicious eats across the parks and resorts. I completely understand why you’d want to add one to your trip!
Since you booked your vacation package through Costco Travel, I gave them a call today to double-check your options. Unfortunately, they confirmed that they are not able to add a Disney Dining Plan to existing packages. I also checked with the
Walt Disney Travel Company, and they let me know that dining plans are only available when booking directly through Disney. That means, with a Costco package, the dining plan isn’t something that can be added on (bummer, I know)!
That said, there are still ways to plan ahead and save on dining! Many guests love to purchase
Disney Gift Cards from places like Costco or Target, where you can sometimes get them at a discount. Using those to pay for meals can be a great way to keep dining costs down while still staying on budget!
Also, here’s a quick rundown on what types of dining plans are offered. The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan includes two quick-service meals, one snack, and a resort-refillable mug per person, per night of your stay. The Disney Dining Plan includes one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one snack, and a resort-refillable mug per person, per night. Each plan gives you a set number of meal and snack credits that you can use throughout your trip. For full details, you can check out all the info on the
Disney Dining Plans page on the Walt Disney World website.
If you’re still interested in having a dining plan for your trip, the only way to do so would be to cancel your Costco package and rebook directly through Disney. I know that’s not always an ideal option, but I wanted to make sure you had all the info to make the best decision for your vacation!
I hope this helps, Tracy! Let me know if you have any other questions. I’m all ears and happy to help!
