Aloha Stephen, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’re planning a vacation to
Aulani. It’s one of my favorite places because the combination of Hawaiian culture and Disney touches makes it extra magical!
I believe you’re talking about the Honeymoon Wishes gift registry, which is linked on the
Honeymoons page on the Aulani website. This is a fun way to have family and friends contribute to your special vacation. Honeymoon Wishes isn’t run by Disney, so I checked the Terms and Conditions on their website and confirmed that there’s currently a 3% credit card fee charged to gift givers.
As an alternative, you could ask family and friends to purchase Disney gift cards directly from Disney, or if they’d prefer to buy them in Canadian dollars, they can also purchase them locally at many grocery retailers. That could be a possible way to avoid any credit card fees. My fellow panelist, Candace W., has
tips and more information for purchasing Disney gift cards in Canada, which you can also pass along.
Disney gift cards can be used at Aulani or to book your vacation package.
It sounds like you’re celebrating something very special in Hawaii, so I have two recommendations for the occasion! First is to book dinner at
‘AMA’AMA about an hour before sunset. The view is amazing, and the locally sourced four-course dinner is one of the best meals I’ve had! My other suggestion is to make a reservation for the
Laniwai Spa. The spa treatments come with access to the
Kula Wai: Outdoor Hydrotherapy Garden, where you can relax before and after your treatment with soaking pools and lounge chairs. It’s my favorite spot at Aulani!
I hope you have the most magical stay at Aulani! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
