Howdy LInda!
Welcome to planDisney from a fellow Texan! A MagicBand+ is one of my favorite items to have during our vacations to Walt Disney World. It allows me to quickly scan into my Lightning Lane entrance, charge my meals to my room, and pay for merchandise. It also allows me to experience magical extras around the park, like how it lights up during the nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After. Let's see what we can find out about your question.
So the MagicBand+ is the most current version of MagicBands available for purchase. There are a few places where you can find the current MagicBand+ offerings. The
Disney Store carries quite a few options. You can also visit the
Walt Disney World website and log in to your My Disney Experience account at the top of the screen. Next, hover over the My Disney Experience tab, then click My MagicBands and Cards. Next, you will see a list of your reservations and family members associated with them. Choose the reservation and click Get Started. Now you can select your family member to see many MagicBands that aren’t always available on the Disney Store website. In the event that you are still not able to find the one you are looking for, you can always purchase one at many of the Merchandise stores in the parks. One of the largest selections is available at Pin Traders at Disney Springs.
I would like to share a little-known feature of the MagicBand+. You can customize many of the effects and colors of your band using the
My Disney Experience app. You can do this by tapping on the 3 bars (≡) at the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll down to MagicBands & Cards and choose the person associated with the band. Here, you can change the Light Up Theme for when you interact with park attractions. You can also adjust the brightness, vibrations, and other interactive features. It’s a neat way to make your experience even more magical.
Linda, I hope that you have an amazing time visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth and using your new MagicBand+. Please stop back by planDisney if you have any further questions, and my fellow panelists will be happy to help.
See ya real soon,
Robert
