Hey Stephanie,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I was thrilled to see your question because I just returned from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa 2 days ago. This beautiful resort is where Victorian elegance meets modern sophistication. You will really enjoy your stay here. Two of my favorite things about this resort are the
transportation options (water taxi, Monorail, or bus) and how close it is to Magic Kingdom. It also has spectacular dining options - a well-timed
Narcoossee’s dinner reservation can also be a great opportunity for fireworks viewing. You can view
Happily Ever After right from your table (depending on where you’re seated) or from the restaurant’s outdoor patio. The restaurant will even play the music so you can really follow along.
I love the fact that you are taking advantage of
Disney’s Direct-to-Room Service. This service allows you to use the
My Disney Experience app to verify your reservation details, simplify your arrival, and bypass the front desk. You’ll also be able to use your
MagicBand+ or the app to unlock your room door throughout your stay. While utilizing this service last week, I did note that Sugarloaf was an option that I could also select. The Sugarloaf building contains club-level rooms which grant guests access to the Royal Palm Club, which is the concierge lounge in the resort’s main building. Guests selecting this option during check-in would need to have a club-level room booked on their reservation in order for this request to be honored.
Stephanie, you’re visiting Disney World at an exciting time. There’s so much happening throughout the summer. From all the special offerings during
Cool Kids’ Summer to
Fourth of July fireworks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I hope this information was helpful. Have the best time during your upcoming stay, and don’t forget to visit us here at planDisney with any other planning questions you have. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
