Looking at a cheaper flight out of FLL after our Disney cruise... is 11:35 am too early? I would save almost $400 on our airfare? But I've never disembarked from a Disney cruise before and not sure on the timing. TIA

    Welcome aboard, Stephanie!

Thanks for asking about travel logistics for your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation. Disney just held the grand opening of this new departure port, and it looks beautiful! Starting your cruise in sunny Fort Lauderdale at the new Port Everglades sounds like the right way to flip into “vacation mode.” I’m happy to share guidance for planning your departure flight after this amazing trip.

Disney Cruise Line advises that Guests plan departure flights out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) no earlier than 11:00 A.M. so it seems your desired flight of 11:35 A.M. will be fine. These timing guidelines are in place to allow for the disembarkation process, luggage retrieval, and U.S. Customs clearance plus the travel time of just fifteen minutes to the airport from the port. You may add Ground Transportation from the port to the airport to your reservation, either through your reservation on the Disney Cruise Line website, the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, or by calling Disney. This service is a personalized transportation for a per-person fee.

If this is your first time sailing with Disney, you’re in for a treat! There’s so much included with your cruise fare and so much going on while onboard and in port, making it a practically perfect vacation for families of all styles! Be sure to download and update your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App prior to traveling so that you are in ship-shape to receive all the latest schedules for your trip once onboard. While on your cruise, you will receive detailed information in your app as well as on your stateroom television for the process and procedures for disembarkation day to go smoothly.

I hope this gives you peace of mind to move forward in booking your flights, and hopefully presents the savings you seek! Please let our planDisney crew know how else we can help you make the most of this special sailing from sunny Fort Lauderdale.

    Wishing you a magical cruise,
    Amy
