Looking for best allergy safe options for sit-down and character dining that would include things like pancakes, waffles, chicken tenders, hamburgers, tacos for dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and all seeds allergies. Staying at Polynesian.

    Hiya Pal!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your allergy question! As someone with a family full of allergies, I understand entirely the desire to enjoy a magical meal while navigating food restrictions. My daughter is lactose intolerant, my mother-in-law is allergic to nuts, strawberries, and chocolate, and I have a pineapple allergy and gluten sensitivity. So, trust me, we’re well-versed in navigating Disney’s allergy-friendly dining options.

Disney truly goes above and beyond to accommodate special dietary needs, including food allergies, intolerances, and medically restricted diets. At table-service restaurants and select quick-service locations, you’ll find allergy-friendly options. When you check in for table service, let the Cast Member know about your party’s allergies. Typically, you’ll be offered an allergy-friendly menu, and the Cast Member will ask if you’d like to speak with a Chef.

Let me tell you, the chefs at Disney truly embody the spirit of ‘ohana—they treat you like family and ensure everyone is taken care of. They have consistently worked with us to ensure everyone at our table enjoys a safe and delicious meal. My family loves the character breakfast at ‘Ohana to meet Lilo and Stitch. But as you can imagine, having a pineapple allergy at the Polynesian can be a bit of an adventure! The chef came out and tailored the menu around all of our allergies, ensuring everyone could enjoy a wonderful breakfast—pineapple-free for me and filled with pixie dust.

Here is a tip I highly recommend: check menus ahead of time. Many Disney restaurant menus, including allergy-friendly options, are available to view on the My Disney Experience app. This can help you prepare questions for the Chef ahead of time as well as make or ordering go smoother.
When in doubt, be sure to ask questions. While restaurants take reasonable measures to accommodate dietary needs, it’s important to note that they can’t guarantee 100% allergen-free environments. However, in our experience, Disney consistently goes above and beyond.
My oldest daughter loves eating at Disney because she knows her needs are always cared for. It’s one less worry and a lot more time for magical memories.

I hope this helps you feel confident about dining at Disney while managing allergies. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by again!

    See you real soon,

    Christina
