Hi Michele,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for sailing by with another great question. An Alaskan cruise aboard Disney Wonder sounds like a perfect way to sail away!
If your husband requires an EVC, he will more than likely require an
accessible stateroom, so I'm glad you are planning ahead. When not in use, all wheelchairs and mobility devices must be kept in your stateroom and are not permitted to be stored in hallways, as it sounds like you may know. Unfortunately, no furniture can be removed from your room, but there is another option. If the EVC does not fit comfortably in your stateroom, you may store it in a designated area when not in use. This area may be on a different deck than your stateroom, however. If you are able to retrieve it for your husband, perhaps that would work for your situation. You can inquire with a Crew Member about the location of this area when you board the ship.
Michele, Guests traveling with a wheelchair or mobility device should
contact Disney Cruise Line Special Services before your cruise. You can also call Disney Cruise Line directly and a member of the reservations team can assist you with questions about
Special Services.
Be mindful that some
Port Adventures are not accessible for all Guests using wheelchairs or mobility assistance devices. Accessibility information should be in the description of each adventure, but if you have questions about a specific Port Adventure,
contact Disney Cruise Line. I am confident you will find the perfect way to spend each of your days! And don't forget to grab some hot chocolate and spend time on the pool deck taking in the magnificent views!
I hope this information is helpful to you as you plan, Michele. Sail by again if you have other questions!
Wishing you many magical moments,
Shannon
