Hiya Tammy,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your backpack question. Oh boy! Your magical adventure is just a few days away—I bet you’re as excited as Rapunzel on her first day out of the tower!
Let’s dive right in and talk about your backpack question. Currently, there are no rules against using a lock on your backpack when bringing it into the parks. However, keep in mind that all bags are subject to security screenings at the entrance, so you’ll need to remove the lock for inspection. Also, just a heads-up—Disney reserves the right to deny entry to any bag. So, here are a few important things to keep in mind before you pack like Mary Poppins’ carpet bag (the property rules provide a complete list of guidelines):
- Backpacks (with or without wheels) larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high are not permitted in any theme park or water park.
- Firearms, ammunition, knives, weapons of any kind, self-defense or restraining devices (e.g., pepper spray, mace) are prohibited.
- Loose or dry ice is not allowed, so if you want to keep things cool, bring reusable ice packs instead.
If you are looking for a safe place for your valuables, another great option is r
enting a theme park locker for the day! This is perfect if you don’t want to carry everything around. Lockers are available in various sizes at each park, giving you peace of mind while you enjoy all the magic and adventure.
One last pro tip: I highly recommend bringing a refillable water bottle! With the warmer Florida days ahead, staying hydrated is just as important as finding Cinderella before midnight! Did you know that each Disney Park has
water bottle refill stations? You can even locate them on the
My Disney Experience App.
Tammy, I hope this helps prepare you for your BEST TRIP EVER! If you have any more questions, please visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
