I read you can bring a small ice chest in the park and use picnic tables that are available. Where can the ice chest be stored until we are ready for lunch or snacks?

Welcome back to planDisney, Pamela! We're happy to help you prepare for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit. You'll be in the magic before you know it! You're among fellow planners here, so let's talk about how you can enjoy a festive picnic in the park.

Guests are welcome to bring food and drinks into the theme parks, so my first suggestion is to review the Property Rules to ensure all of your items are within the guidelines of what's allowed. For example, glass containers and loose ice are prohibited, and backpacks/coolers must be no larger than 24" x 15" x 18". So pack your cooler with some yummy snacks and get ready for a fun meal with your family!

I've seen guests carrying insulated backpacks in the theme parks, so that's one way to keep your lunch safe and cold until you're ready to eat. Another convenient option is to rent a locker at any theme park entrance. These are available on a first-come basis, and you can check out the sizes to determine if your supplies will fit. A locker also comes in handy to store jackets and souvenirs to keep your hands free while you enjoy the parks.

One of my favorite spots to relax with a snack is the new World Celebration Gardens at EPCOT. I recently found an outdoor table tucked in the shade, and it even offered a charging port for my phone! I also like the picnic tables behind Ye Old Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park. This area is usually quiet and offers tables and some shade for your eating pleasure.

Pamela, I hope your vacation is practically perfect! Stay cool and stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
