Hi, I live in Illinois. My daughter and grandchildren are Florida resident and have a Disney resident pass. Can they buy visiting grandma and grandpa discounted resident passes when we come to visit??

Hiya, Ginny! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question! Like your daughter, I'm a Florida resident and love the Walt Disney World Resort perks and discounts. I'm excited you're coming to visit, so let's look at some options for heading to the parks as a family.

All guests over 18 must show proof of Florida residency to activate resident theme park tickets. Unless you own property in Florida, you probably aren't eligible for resident admission rates. But Hakuna Matata! I have some ideas for you.

As an Annual Passholder, your daughter can purchase Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park tickets at a discount for you and your husband. I'm here now, and it's certainly warm enough to enjoy a float in Melt-Away Bay. She can also take advantage of resident discounts on Disney Resort hotel stays if you spend some time on property; as long as a resident is listed on the reservation, the other guests can be from anywhere. Finally, passholders can apply their discount at many restaurants for themselves and up to three guests. So, get ready to enjoy some yummy food family-style!

Ginny, being together at Walt Disney World is where the pixie dust happens. I hope you decide to make some memories with your family at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
