Hello again, Maren, and welcome back to planDisney!
Thanks for submitting another question to us and we always love seeing our repeat patrons! And I love that you're asking about one of my favorite attractions. When Little Leota tells us to "Hurry baaaaack!" at the end of the Haunted Mansion, I know that I can't wait to get back into that queue especially now that it's going to be
expanded to include new gardens, a greenhouse, and Madame Leota's Carriage House!
When my kids were young, I also carefully watched what they were exposed to during Park visits so that nothing too intense or scary would lead to a bad experience. The Stretching Room sequence can definitely be a bit frightening for young ones. There is an alternative entrance through the Cemetery that leads directly to the loading area for your Doom Buggy. Back when the Park first opened following its year-long closure when social distancing was required, this entrance was used for Guests to avoid enclosed spaces. With the current construction in this area, I'm unsure if they're allowing Guests to use this entrance. My best recommendation would be to speak to a Cast Member and let them know your concerns and I promise they'll do their best to accommodate you and your little one.
I did want to let you know, Maren, that
Haunted Mansion Holiday will be the attraction overlay during your visit (the
Halloween Season) and the Stretching Room sequence is
much less scary than the original iteration. It's still loud but more whimsical and features Jack Skellington in an overhead projection. I would recommend watching a YouTube video and judging for yourself whether your little one can handle it, but it is significantly different from the normal Stretching Room.
Fun Fact: Disney Legend Bob Gurr conceptualized and developed the ever popular Omnimover attraction vehicle, lovingly named the "Doom Buggy" for the Haunted Mansion. It allowed Guests to move through the attraction in large numbers and was first used in Adventure Thru Inner Space. It's really interesting to see the evolution of this technology into the
OmniCoaster, used in Walt Disney World's
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!
Maren, I wish you a truly magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Please return anytime you have more questions. As you know, you're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you again! We'll see ya real soon!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
