Hello Kim! Welcome back to planDisney.
I saw the funniest meme about how a mom's job on vacation doesn't change; it just has a better view, and I think that applies to your situation! Looking on the "brighter" side, though, I love that laundry facilities are available at the resorts. You can pack lighter and leave room in the luggage for all
the fun things you pick up during your magical vacation!
There are 24-hour
Laundry Facilities scattered across the property. The laundromats are on the ground floor of all the outer buildings and the second floor of the main building. If you are staying in a 1-bedroom or larger Villa, you will have a washer and dryer in your Villa. The
machines in the laundry rooms operate on a fee-by-load basis and accept debit and credit cards. Some machines will even text you to let you know when your load is done!
Feel free to bring your allergy-friendly detergent, whether pods, powder, or liquid. Just make sure it follows TSA guidelines if traveling to Disney World by air. You can buy detergent in the laundry rooms or the
Grand Floridian's Gift Shops. My favorite option (before we moved to Florida and now drive up) was to have a
grocery order delivered with our specific necessities on arrival.
Kim, if you don't feel like doing the laundry yourself, you can also choose to have your laundry dry-cleaned or use the Valet Laundry Service. Select "Housekeeping" on your phone to schedule a pick-up of the laundry bags in your hotel room closet. The great thing about this (besides having your laundry professionally done!) is that they will charge your Guest Room account, so it's a really seamless process. Feel free to come back with any additional questions!
